在文經社出版的《世界上最美麗的英文‧人生短篇》裡，看到這麼兩句話：

I love you not because of who you are,
but because of who I am when I am with you.

To the world you may be one person,
but to one person you may be the world.

這讓我想到在電影《征服情海》裡，Tom Cruise 所飾演的男主角 Jerry Maguire，為了挽回太太 Dorothy，結結巴巴地說：

But tonight, our little project, our company had a very big night—a very, very big night.

But it wasn’t complete, wasn’t nearly close to being in the same vicinity as complete, because I couldn’t share it with you. I couldn’t hear your voice or laugh about it with you. I miss my—I miss my wife.

接下來是一小段吞吞吐吐、不知所云的岔題話，最後他終於鼓起勇氣，講了一句雖然簡單，卻很經典的名言：

You complete me.

或許，我們都在尋找會視自己如 the whole world 的人，會讓我們更愛相處時的自己的人，會 complete me 的人吧。
